A whole new world!

I love fabric. I love to feel it, to watch as it takes form as I sew. I often look up items on the Internet and am so hesitant to buy online. The few times I had previously I wasn't always pleased with the quality.

A few weekends ago I entered the world of Amy Butler and Heather Bailey fabric. AAAHHH, how refreshing it is to see their amazing talent in person. I have been looking at their fabric online and have craved to find anyone who carries it. Finally, I found a shop. The only problem was making a decision on which to purchase, I wanted it all!!! So here are some items I couldn't leave without.

Here is Heather Bailey's Pop Garden prints and with them I created this dress for Laney using the Simplicity 3509 pattern... ( I modified the bottom to incorporate the third fabric) The model, herself is missing because I realized all the pictures I have of her in the dress are on my mom's camera... So I'll have to update with a picture of her in it soon.

Then for Amy Butler I am sorry I am not sure what the line is called (I believe it is Daisy Chain)I used her fabric to create this purse with the Simplicity 2551 pattern.

I haven't purchased patterns by either designer yet but both have some wonderful options to choose from.

Here are two quilts made from Amy Butler prints (they were on display at the store, I cannot claim these). Aren't they wonderful. They have inspired me to not give up on quilting yet. (I have completed one quilt which I owe a post to, but have yet to finish the matching shams so that is the hold up)

I am forcing myself to use ALL the fabric I have already ,which is patiently waiting for my attention, before I allow myself another splurge on these great prints. Oh, I hope I have a bit of self control!!!

  1. I can so identify with you. I have a closet full of Amy Butler, Joel Dewberry. I have made several quilts from Amy Butler, Michael Miller, and Joel Dewberry. They turned out great. Be careful, you can spend a fortune on fabrics. They are almost irresistible. I have a list of websites you can order from and some will include free shipping. Can you tell I am excited you had this discovery?? HA!!!
