Sew Inspired

Recently, I had abandoned my sewing machine. I go through phases where I just have to create and then I work so much that I become burned out, know the feeling? Well, a recent trip to Hobby Lobby had me ready to brave the sewing machine again. I saw a booklet with inspiration for toddler girl outfits and I knew Laney just had to have this one. So back to the finding a spare moment here and there and this is what I came up with...

I didn't have a pattern with the exact look I wanted so I somewhat created a pattern... so I won't bore you with the details, but any basic dress or tunic top pattern would work. The pants are a pair of Granimals (Walmart) that had become to short for her. I cut off the bottom hem and added a cuff from the matching material to lengthen them to fit.
The turquoise and lime green accent is just ribbon. I sewed the lime green on top of the turquoise grosgrain ribbon and then sewed it onto the bottom just to add a pop of color.
